BAGOUT

How to play Bagout

Updated 14 September 2026

Bagout is a real-time territory game that runs in your browser. You steer a cube around a round map. While you're inside your own land you're safe. Step outside and you start drawing a trail, and when you get back in, everything that trail enclosed is yours. If someone crosses your trail before you make it home, you're out. You can do the same to them.

The rules

There are really only three.

  1. Close a loop to claim ground. Leave your land, curve around and come back in, and the area inside the loop joins your territory.
  2. Cross a rival's trail and they're out. A trail only exists while its owner is outside their land, so anyone on a run can be cut anywhere along it.
  3. Cross your own trail and you're out. Tight turns are fine. Driving back over the line you just drew is not.

Controls

Your cube never stops moving. You only choose where it goes. With a mouse it turns toward the pointer. On a keyboard, WASD or the arrow keys point it in that direction. On a phone or tablet, drag anywhere on the screen and a joystick appears under your finger.

Every cube moves at the same speed. Racing someone to a trail comes down to distance and timing more than reflexes.

Battle royale

A battle royale puts ten players on one map. When you press join you're dropped into the lobby right away and can drive around while the seats fill. Nothing can hurt you until the countdown ends, and then every cube is sent back to its starting circle. Any seat a person doesn't take is filled by a computer-controlled player.

The safe area is a green circle. It closes in four stages, and each one is announced before it moves. Outside it, the storm takes health every second. You start with 100, and kills and big captures bank a few seconds of healing, which is often what gets you across a storm crossing alive.

The last cube standing wins, drives a short victory lap, and then the result card comes up.

1v1 duels

A duel is the same game for two players. The map is smaller and starts partway through the storm schedule, so rounds are quick. You can challenge a friend, run it back against whoever just beat you, or queue for a random opponent. If the queue finds nobody within a few seconds, a computer-controlled opponent takes the other seat.

Free and real-money tables

The Free tier is the whole game. It costs nothing and pays nothing. On the paid tables ($1, $5 and $20) every player's buy-in goes into one pot, and whoever is left standing takes it, less a 5% fee. Withdrawals carry their own 5% fee. Real-money play is for adults (18+) where it's legal, and only with money you can afford to lose.
